About Us

Blackhawk Motors was founded in January 2019 by father/son duo Steve and Paul Greenhill. Our love of classic cars spans several decades and includes fond memories of Steve and his father restoring a 1967 Jaguar XKE. Steve instilled a love for unique vintage cars with Paul growing up and after years of rehabbing houses, joked about opening a classic car dealership but never thought the opportunity would present itself. Finally, we took the opportunity and ran with it!

Our Gurnee, IL, car dealership offers 20-40 vehicles at any given time. Steve travels to many national car auctions including Barrett-Jackson and Mecum but also can be found working with individuals right in their driveway through consignment or buying. We look for classic cars anywhere and everywhere we can.

If you are in the area and stop by the dealership, you may also meet Clay, Danny, or Marna. While they are not actually family, Marna is affectionately known as the "office mom." Danny and Clay have become invaluable team members who fit right in, doing a little bit of everything around the dealership.

Our team will never pick a dream car because you find appreciation in every car that comes through the doors. One of the most unique cars to come through was a 1961 Ford F100 Resto Mod. It wasn't at the dealership long and had a strong punch when you went into first gear. Steve really enjoyed a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle with the power and roar any car junkie lives for. Paul enjoys unique cars like the 1974 Volkswagen Thing.

Blackhawk Motors is a small classic car dealership for a reason. Our whole team enjoys greeting every person who walks through our doors. Each time, we offer a tour or let the customer walk through our indoor showroom on their own.

We understand no classic car is perfect, so we do our best to be honest as possible about the cars as we can, meaning if we notice something wrong with a car, we point it out. The rest of the team has adopted that same honest mentality and it has grown into our culture. Steve and Paul take pride in the honesty we have with our customers and everyone we work with.
